Episode 2

Episode Two takes us back to the arrival of Europeans to this land, signifying the beginning of our shared history. We look at the impact of colonisation, including many tragic and painful aspects of European arrival. We also hear about the era of Protection that followed, including the controversial role of the Christian missions and government reserves. Finally, we explore the era of Assimilation and the affect it had on the lives of Indigenous people, including policies of child removal and the resulting “Stolen Generations”.
