Unit overview
In this unit, students:
- investigate the ways modifications to biomes have impacted access to native foods across Australia
- explore case studies evaluating management programs for improving access and farming of native crops
- examine the rise of native food in popular culture
- understand the impact this popularity’s having on farming processes and equity and access to native food production
- complete an assessment to demonstrate their understanding of processes and programs associated with the production and use of native food in Australia.
To complete this unit confidently, students should have prior knowledge of:
- food production as a process
- Australia’s biomes and climates
- modifications and changes made to ecosystems by human involvement.
