  • What can I expect from this course?

    You’ll learn about ways to approach Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in the classroom by exploring 5 Key Ideas.

    The course goes for 1 hour. We suggest you allow at least 1.5 hours, to give you time to look through the supporting materials you’ll receive at the end. You can pause it to take notes and start it again as many times as you like.

    Yes. Content in this course will help you teach the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures Cross-curriculum Priority.

    This course will help you meet AITSL Standard 1.4: Strategies for teaching Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and 2.4: Understand and respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to promote reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians.

    This video is intended to help teachers embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into their teaching. Depending on the age of your students some content may not be age-appropriate.
