1. Learn about our history and Indigenous cultures today
Resources and stories to help engage with Indigenous people, history and culture. Watch First Australians (SBS), a 7 episode documentary that explores what happens when the oldest living culture in the world is overrun by the British empire.

2. Acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land you live or work on
There are many ways to acknowledge the Traditional Owners including:
Add an acknowledgment to your website, email signatures and/or social media
Place a sign at your home or work, that can be seen as people enter the building, that acknowledges the Traditional Owners
Say an Acknowledgement of Country at the start of any event that you are organising or part of

3. Get involved on significant dates
If you call Australia home these dates are significant to get involved with:
Anzac Day, 25 April
National Reconciliation Week, 27 May – 3 June
NAIDOC Week, the first full week in July

5. Explore your local area
Aboriginal culture and sites are everywhere. Your local council and/or the local Aboriginal land council will list significant sites and places on their websites. Create your own tour to visit places that are important for local Indigenous people. -
6. Attend an event
Look around for Indigenous festivals, exhibitions, film screenings and cultural tours and centres. Here’s a list of festivals and events to get your started, but there are many different types of events. 7. Get your school, workplace or church involved
