Unit overview
Through this resource, students explore some of the diverse processes used by First Nations Peoples to manufacture objects from natural materials. Students explore physical changes to materials and how these changes affect the use of a material. Through handson learning, they investigate different materials and observe the types of physical changes that can be made without changing the materials’ composition. There are opportunities for students to capture some of their learning using photos and videos. Students can deepen their understanding of Country, including the materials found on Country that are used by First Nations Peoples to fulfill various needs.
