Unit overview
This unit explores how the identity of First Nations Peoples, including concepts of resilience and cultural storytelling, is embedded in a performance culture, where nonverbal communication is valued.
Students will inquire into:
- the power of contemporary dramatic performance in telling the stories of the past and the present
- storytelling as a dramatic art and a powerful teaching tool
- active film elements and dramatic technique
- First Nations artists and how a story can be told through drama
- significant stories that tell of resilience and cultural identity.
