In this unit, students will:

  • explore the concept of storytelling in First Nations cultures
  • discuss the concept of storytelling through poetry
  • read, analyse and discuss a selection of poems by First Nations poets
  • analyse the use of poetic devices and literary techniques
  • apply the concept of storytelling through poetry and poetic devices to create their own poem
  • dramatise their poem.
