Unit overview
In this unit, students identify their own special places and begin to understand the importance of these places. Students identify and research special places within their own community, including those places that hold special meaning to First Nations Peoples. They learn to articulate what makes places special to themselves, their families and First Nations Peoples. Through learning about the history of important and sacred First Nations locations, students reflect on how to look after special places to ensure they remain for future generations.
