Unit overview
In this unit, students investigate a range of First Nations bush foods, along with seasonality, the environmental and health benefits, and the harvesting methods used to collect bush foods. Students explore First Nations agriculture and farming methods including sustainability. They’ll research the cultural and social significance of food before designing a dish using bush foods. This culminates in a talking circle to share their designed dish, their knowledge and to consider the connections they’ve made during their learning.
