Unit overview
In this unit, students will:
- build on their prior knowledge of the importance of Country to First Nations Peoples
- explore their local environment, building connections to the sounds, shapes and patterns created by their school area
- examine the work of renowned Bundjalung artist Bronwyn Bancroft, exploring her use of colour, line and imagery to celebrate Country
- reflect on and represent their own connection to place in an artwork inspired by Bronwyn and Country
- conclude the unit by writing an artistic description that details how their art expresses their connection to a place.
