The circle holds deep significance in many cultures around the world, including First Nations cultures on this continent. In this unit, students will:

  • explore the significance of circles from both a mathematical and cultural perspective
  • derive formulas for the circumference and area of a circle in hands-on activities
  • apply these formulas to First Nations contexts.
